The design concepts for Selah Custom Guitars comes from company owner and luthier Pete Hamelink. Pete has been a fine wood craftsman for over 20 years. For the past ten years, his passion has been selecting and molding the finest woods available into hand-made acoustic guitars.

Pete began playing the guitar while in high school. He continued to grow as a musician during a tour in the US Navy and soon sought a higher quality instrument. During this time he met and married his wife, built a family (that grew to include three children) and came to realize that financially if he wanted a better instrument, he was going to have to build it himself. So he did. Quickly falling in love with this craft, he joined the Guild of American Luthiers and traveled to northern California to attend classes at the American School of Lutherie. His desire for a better instrument grew into a passion for quality that continues today.
