"If I could put my experience playing a Selah guitar
into one word I would say, 'stunning'. The instrument has
subtleties when played lightly that are truly extraordinary.
Yet structurally it is sturdy and capable of thunderous
volume and taking vigorous delivery.
The
dreadnought has the volume, dynamics, and tonal range of
a jumbo. I realize this is hard to believe. But I record.
And I have a professional quality jumbo that I play as well.
The Selah Crescendo meets or exceeds my jumbo in volume,
timbre, and dynamics. The jumbo has a slightly brighter
tone, which is expected in comparing a dreadnought frame
with a concert style frame. In every tonal aspect the Selah
Crescendo is superior. I find myself reaching for the Selah
Crescendo more than any other guitar I own.
Playing
the ebony neck is like going on a journey. It's easy to
grip, easy to play. The guitar is well balanced. I can play
with a flat pick or finger pick it and it sounds wonderful
either way. The only difficulty is trying to figure out
which sounds better, they both sound so good." - Randy
